Rhode Island College

RHC is a public institution serving 8,500 undergraduates and 2,500 graduate students. The College boasts a strong core curriculum devoted to the study of non-Western cultures and comparative perspectives.

Other key initiatives include “Dialogue on Diversity,” an annual Spring semester event that features a national keynote speaker and attracts faculty, staff, and students from across the College. In the fall semester, the College hosts “Promising Practices,” a regional conference on inclusive pedagogy and curriculum. Rhode Island College is also home to an online journal for the scholarship of pedagogy. Several respondents to the NECIT needs assessment, however, wished to strengthen and extend the reach of existing initiatives by linking faculty and staff across schools and programs.
