American Association of College and Universities

AAC&U has provided national leadership on the issue of diversity in higher education since 1971. AAC&U's work in this area has focused primarily on higher education's responsibilities in a diverse democracy and American pluralism, diversity, and justice-seeking as elements of a quality liberal education for all students. AAC&U's initiative American Commitments: Diversity, Democracy, and Liberal Learning has been the anchor of this work since its launch in 1994. The project addresses fundamental questions about higher education in a diverse democracy. The project publishes policy papers and resources, supports faculty study and institutional planning, and provides materials for curriculum development and classroom teaching. Through this initiative and others in this area, AAC&U has created a community of institutions committed to making diversity an integral part of educational excellence and civic engagement.

See particularly their site on diversity and inclusion: DiversityWeb, the most comprehensive compendium of campus practices and resources about diversity in higher education that you can find anywhere. This site is designed to serve campus practitioners seeking to place diversity at the center of the academy's educational and societal mission.
